With cable cars behind the most beautiful views

Hrebienok 1 285 meters above sea level

It is located at the southeastern foot of Slavkovské štít above Starý Smokovec. Since the middle of the 19th century, spa guests from Starý Smokovec liked to seek out this popular place. In 1894, a hard-surfaced road (later autocesta) was built next to the ancient hiking trail, and in 1908, a cable car. Since 1930, ski training meadows and pistes have grown near the hotel. In 1956, a 750 m long lift was built on the slalom meadow from the Slavkovská lookout, and in 1968 referee towers were built. The toboggan run has been electrically lit since 1959.

Currently, Hrebienok is still a popular year-round easily accessible tourist destination and at the same time a starting point for several tourist routes.

At Hrebienok you will find: KVANTARIUM (Hotel Hrebienok) – an interactive gallery of light, a pleasant zone intended for relaxation on comfortable deckchairs, the environment of which is completed by bear sculptures carved from wood, a self-service restaurant Hrebienok, a snack bar in the building of the cable car, an exhibition of Miniatures of Tatra Cottages, a statue of 350 kg of iron bear Cuba.

Skalnaté Pleso 1754  meters above sea level

Come and see the most popular tourist spot – Skalnaté pleso up to a height of 1751 meters. It will take you out of the valley station in Tatranská Lomnica 4-seater cable car to Štart intermediate station, from where a new modern 15-seater gondola will take you to Skalnaté pleso. You can go on a hike from there to the Studenovod valleys in the direction of Hrebienok or to Zelený ples via Veľká Svišťovka. For children, the Svištia krajinka children’s eco-mini park with adventures and stories of the Tatra Wilderness is popular at Skalnat Pleso.

Lomnické sedlo 2190 meters above level sea

If you would like to combine a trip by cable car with a short walk through the alpine terrain, be sure to visit Lomnické sedlo, where you can ride the highest chairlift in Slovakia. In the summer, tourists can access the trail from the top station of the cable car to the Great Lomnic Tower, which can be reached after a fifteen-minute walk. The route offers wonderful views of Lomnický štít, Skalnaté pleso or Mala Studena dolina. In the winter months, Lomnické sedlo is the most attractive and steepest slope in Slovakia with an elevation of 409 m.

Lomnický štít – 2634 meters above level sea

Ride above the clouds and experience unrepeatable views of the surrounding peaks of the world’s smallest peaks, take a trip with your family to the second highest peak of the High Tatras – Lomnický štít. From the top, you can see the entire Tatras, the Podtatra basin, the Low Tatras, the Pieniny Mountains, the Polish plains and, in good weather, even the ends of the Alps. Enter the kingdom of silence and relax in the stylish cafe Dedo. There is a natural botanical garden on Lomnicki štít, where you can see several plants in their natural environment. From the valley station in Tatranská Lomnica, an orange 6-seater chairlift leads to the Štart intermediate station, from where a new modern 15-seater gondola will take you to Skalnaté pleso, which is the summit station and at the same time a transfer station to Lomnický štít. From there, a unique red cable car will take you to the peak, which overcomes an elevation of 855 meters and the ride takes 8.5 minutes.

Solisko 2093 meters above level sea

Come to one of the lowest and most easily accessible peaks in the High Tatras. On the southern edge of the mountain range is Predné Solisko, which at an altitude of 2093 m above sea level. it provides a view of Mlynicka and Furkotská dolina. Take the 4-seater Solisko Express cable car from the Štrbské Pleso valley station up to a height of 1,814 m above sea level to the most beautiful panoramic views. In less than 7 minutes, you will overcome the height difference of 431 m above sea level. A short distance from the top station is the Bivac Restaurant with a sunny terrace, from which there are unique views of the valley, Kriváň, the romantic Štrbské pleso, or Kráľová hola.
