Atmospheric pressure

The air pressure in the region of the High Tatras depends on the altitude. Among other things, it influences the air flow and temperature. This is why athletes from all around the world like training here. Because a run or a walk around Štrbské pleso (tarn) is the same as if performed at the altitude of 3,000 metres. Nature filled with fragrant essential oils and a modern infrastructure are just an extra bonus. The pressure also influences the decreasing oxygen tension, which is related to the amount of ozone in the air. Lower atmospheric pressure results in a blood pressure decrease in the human body. But it’s mainly asthmatics who feel fine in the High Tatras above the inversion zone. Absolutely clean air boosts immunity and helps treat respiratory diseases and airway infections. Winter inversion contains not only various oxides but also dust particles that might get into the blood in some cases, this is why clean air, silent nature and relaxation in the Tatras basking in the sun are so beneficial for human health.
